This is is an eight week parent training and group intervention course. This eight week course utilizes the spark* program (self-regulation program for awareness and resiliency in kids) to understand what self-regulation is and how executive functions are effecting your child’s daily living. At the same time, your child will attend a group intervention focused on improving his/her self-regulation and executive function skills. Your child will learn how to improve-self-regulation both at school and at home. You will learn how to promote these skills in structured lessons then you will practice implementing your knowledge and skills with your child before the send of each session. The students will complete lessons from spark* starting with learning about executive function and body self-regulation.
spark* Strategies for Everyday Life
This is workshop designed for teachers, parents, caregivers, professioniols and ABA program providers. This one-day workshop teaches participants how to develop students/child’s self-regulation and executive functioning skills in everyday situations (home, grocery store, playground). This workshop is in the morning for a half-day session. Registration includes workshop fees and spark* textbook.

This one day workshop provides information for Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Physical Therapists, Teachers, and any special education professionals to learn how to implement spark”. Registration includes workshop fees and spark* textbook.

Become a Certified spark* Practitioner
This two day workshop consists of six hours of training per day. The workshop includes lecture and small group hands on activities. The instructor will guide participants through learning activities aimed at building competencies in planing, implementing, and evaluating spark* in their practice. Participants will practice each component of spark* and evaluate their teaching as well as receive feedback from the instructor and other participants.
This workshop focuses on developing expertise in teaching spark* skills and strategies to children with autism. Participants successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Describe and demonstrate self-regulation and executive functions
- Relate current research on the impact of self-regulation and executive function skills in both typical children and those with special needs
- Explain structured lessons and the progression of skills to develop behavioral, cognitive and emotional self-regulation
- Implement general strategies to promote self-regulation in daily situations at school and at home.
